Who We Are

Sentinel is a compliance assessment platform built by Grant Teeple, Esq. (CA Bar #144760), founding partner of Teeple Hall, LLP. Grant created this tool to help California business owners identify compliance gaps before they become expensive problems.

What We Collect

When you take our compliance quiz, we collect:

• Email address – So we can send you your compliance report and follow up if you request a consultation
• Quiz answers – Your responses about your business structure, filing status, workforce, etc.
• Calculated results – Your compliance score, identified gaps, and estimated financial exposure
• Basic analytics – IP address, browser type, device info, and how you navigate the site (via Google Analytics and Meta Pixel)

We do NOT collect:

• Social Security Numbers
• Bank account or payment information (our quizzes are free)
• Sensitive personal information beyond what's necessary for compliance assessment

How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

• Generate your personalized compliance report
• Schedule consultation calls with Grant or other attorneys at Teeple Hall, LLP
• Send occasional educational content about California business compliance
• Improve our assessment tools and understand which compliance gaps are most common
• Track marketing performance (e.g., which ads led to quiz completions)

We will never sell your email or quiz data to third parties. Period.

Who We Share With

We share limited data with:

• Service providers – Email delivery (e.g., Resend), analytics (Google, Meta), hosting (Vercel, Supabase), and scheduling (Calendly)
• Legal obligations – If required by law, court order, or to protect our rights

If you schedule a consultation, your information is shared with Grant or the attorney assigned to your call at Teeple Hall, LLP.

Your Rights

You can:

• Access your data – Request a copy of what we have on file
• Correct your data – Update or fix any inaccurate information
• Delete your data – Ask us to remove your quiz results and email from our system
• Unsubscribe – Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link
• Opt out of tracking – Use browser settings to block cookies or opt out of Google Analytics

California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

Since we're California attorneys serving California businesses, we take the California Consumer Privacy Act seriously.

California residents have additional rights:

• Right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it
• Right to delete personal information (with some exceptions)
• Right to opt-out of the "sale" of personal information (we don't sell your data)
• Right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights

Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Our database is hosted on Supabase with role-based access controls.

However, no internet transmission is 100% secure. If you're concerned about sharing compliance information online, you can always call us directly to discuss your situation.

How Long We Keep Your Data

We retain quiz responses and email addresses for as long as you remain subscribed or until you request deletion. Analytics data is typically retained for 26 months (Google Analytics default).

If you become a client of Teeple Hall, LLP, your information is subject to attorney file retention policies (typically 7 years after case closure, per California State Bar rules).

Children's Privacy

This tool is designed for business owners, not children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we discover we've collected data from a minor, we'll delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our tools evolve or laws change. If we make material changes, we'll email active subscribers. The "Last Updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version.
